Complete Test System to Prove Abrasion at Car Seats for Development and Quality Control

Test stand is controlled by an industrial PC with embedded controler and intelligent data collection card. The PC together with monitor, operatiing panel and printer is placed in a separate 19" cabinet.Three input cylinders tranfer the electrical signals of the control PC in mechanic motions of a seat dummy. Four additional cylinders handle seat release levers.
  • A force monitored dummy which is driven by the horizontal cylinder simulates a seated person which cyclical operates the adjustments of the manual seats according to the specifications of a list of activities.
  • A crossbeam driven by the vertical cylinder lifts and lowers the dummy which weighs up to 150kg. Between the crossbeam and the seat dummy an elaborate load cell application is located which grips horizontal and cross forces.
  • A table board furnished with T-slots can be moved cross to the driving direction by a cylinder which is built-in under the table (simulation of driving operation cross). Furthermore the retainer is rotatable around the vertical (slant-seating-simulation).
The check of the electric adjustments is carried out by activating the appropriate adjustment drives of the seat under test. The drives are powered by a built-in power supply with constant output voltage (input voltage range: 0 ... 50V/50A). The up to eight motor channels are switched by MOSFet H-bridges. Therefore testing of seats with 12V as well as with 42V internal power supply is possible.
